The only mezcaleros in Michoacán working with Agave rhodacantha, the Perez family were gifted some seeds by a Oaxacan mezcalero during a visit over a decade ago and have been cultivating the species ever since. A delightful anomaly, this mezcal manages to straddle the lines between its origins and its new home, showing familiar profiles of both Mexicano from Oaxaca and the aromatic mezcales of Michoacán! Novel, and delicious.

Distilled twice using a Filipino-style pot still made of copper and oak
