Producer's Notes

On the mountain. A selection of grapes from vineyards located on the Eastern and Southern slopes of Mount Etna, particularly from locations recognized for the high elevation and luminosity. In the vineyard. The very first and still extremely rare sparkling wine made from Carricante, the noble indigenous white grape of the Etna volcano. The berries are medium-sized with very pruinose skin and a green-yellowish color. The bunches are of average length and scattered. Located between 700 and 850 m a.s.l (2,300 to 2,800 ft a.s.l.), the vineyards are planted on sandy, volcanic soils that are rich in minerals, with a sub-acid profile. The vines are between 20 and 60 years old, and arranged in traditional bush vines ('albarello') as well as in rows with Guyot training system. A tight planting density of 6,000-7,000 vines per hectare gives a yield of 7,000-8,000 kg/ha. The terrain is mountainous and hilly, assuring good ventilation and significant temperature swings and a humid, rainy climate in the colder season. In the cellar. Grapes are hand picked and softly pressed without any de- stemming. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The wine is left to mature on its lees until late spring, when it is bottled with selected yeasts to induce the second fermentation. The disgorgement and dosage occur after 24 months. The wine then rests for at least three months. In the glass. The wine is pale straw yellow with bright greenish tints and it has numerous, fine and persistent bubbles. Intense on the nose, with delicate scents of orange and lemon flower and ripe apple. On the palate it is dry, elegant with a pleasant acidity and nice aromatic persistence. Serving temperature: 6- 8°C. At the table. Light- to medium-bodied, elegant and refined sparkling wine that may be served throughout a meal, especially with delicate fried fish and seafood recipes.', 'A pale salmon/yellow hue, the 2022 Etna Spumante Rosato Lamoremio Brut is very pretty with notes of white strawberries, chalky earth, shortbread, cherry blossoms, and candied citrus. Medium to full-bodied, the mousse is pillowy and fills the palate with a rounded feel, a ripe stone fruit texture, and a lasting finish. It’s going to drink well now, but it should also improve over the next few years. Drink 2025-2032.
