A blend of warm and cool part of Cornas delivering a well-rounded, dense and focused red. There is a wild character on the nose, with notes of dark berries, roasted meat, crushed peppercorns, stones, leather and burnt sage. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. So juicy and bright at the center, with a well-built structure. It’s balanced, spicy and intense, yet it remains agile, fresh and vivid. Funneled finish with length. Only 12.5% alcohol, but does not lack character or intensity. Drink or hold.

Chapoutier's 2021 Cornas Temenos is marked by garrigue-like notes, hints of crushed stone and pencil shavings, plus plenty of raspberries and red plums. Blended from two parcels (Saint Pierre and Les Reynards), it's medium to full-bodied, silky and concentrated, with hints of violets as the wine develops in the glass. Very promising.

The 2021 Cornas Temenos matured in a combination of 600-liter demi-muids and 12-hectoliter foudres. Blending grapes from the Reynard and Saint-Pierre lieux-dits, it unwinds with shy blackberry, iodine, earth and crushed violet aromas. Ripe yet smooth tannins provide gentle structure to this fairly straightforward 2021. It is already approachable today.

The 2021 Cornas Temenos is from the Reynard and St. Pierre lieux-dits and was raised in 20% new oak, with 20% in demi-muids. Fermented with around 15% whole clusters, it has an almost Côte Rôtie-like vibe in its black raspberry, smoky, floral aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, fine, supple tannins, and beautiful length on the finish. It's clearly an outstanding wine, with textbook Northern Rhône gamey, bacon fat nuances, and it will evolve for a decade.
