Hampden Estate is, in essence, an archaeological treasure—a living record of the history of Jamaican pot-distilled rums and one of the last estates to produce intensely high-ester rums using the dunder method of fermentation. Located in the legendary rum parish of Trelawny, sugar production on Hampden Estate dates back to 1753 and pot still rum has been continuously distilled there since 1756.
The second ever release of Hampden Estate’s ‘8 Marks’ project, this gift set offers the rare opportunity to taste all 8 different rums that the famous Jamaican estate uses to blend and create its various commercial products. Varying from low to very high-ester, with each aged a year in oak, it is a rum nerd’s dream—the ultimate tasting experience to learn the ins and outs of Jamaican rum production from the very best.
