The 2010 Chianti Classico Riserva Poggio delle Rose is just beginning to show the first signs of aromatic development. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, mint, dried cherries and licorice all open up effortlessly. Fine, silky tannins round out the wine's mid-weight, open-knit personality. The 2010 is a bit more accessible than I expected, but it also won't take forever to deliver pleasure.
