Sweet blackberry fruit from the first nose, intense tannic structure with lovely depth and grip. Excellent precision that doesn't take away from the flesh of the fruit. If you are not yet on board with the changes happening at Le Prieuré, this could be a good time to discover it. Fourth year under Artemis Domaines. A yield of 49hl/ha.

The 2019 Le Prieuré is silky, elegant and nuanced. Today the 2019 comes across as a bit closed and not as sumptuous as it was from barrel, but it largely compensates for that with its persistent, brilliant finish. Ripe red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint and rose petal linger. Le Prieuré has been one of the under the radar gems in Saint-Émilion for some time. It will be interesting to see how things develop under its new owners, the Suravenir insurance group that owns Calon Ségur. 

An impressive showing, the 2019 Château Le Prieure has a big, ripe, even sexy bouquet of mulled red and blue fruits as well as notes of Christmas spice, sandalwood, and incense. Rich, mouthfilling, and medium to full-bodied, it has lots to like and should certainly be an outstanding wine.

Formerly owned by Artemis domaines and recently acquired by Calon-Ségur, the 2019 Le Prieuré exhibits aromas of plums, cherries and loamy soil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, lively palate framed by powdery tannins.
