Even better than when I tasted it prior to bottling, the 2020 Cotes du Rhone Le Mazet comes from five hectares in Serrignan, next to the Plan de Dieu. A 60-40 blend of Syrah and Grenache, it's plummy and slightly peppery on the nose, full-bodied and ripe on the palate, finishing silky, spicy and long. The 2021 is more perfumed and slightly lighter weight but still excellent.
