The 2022 Rosé Château Romassan wafts up from the glass with a pretty blend of stone dust and savory herbs accentuating wild strawberry hints. It’s silky and pliant on the palate, showing crisp orchard fruits, sour citrus and minerals that add a more tactile feel toward the close. This finishes potent and with admirable length. The 2022 Bandol Rose Chateau Romassan, a blend of 55% Mourvèdre, 25% Cinsault and 20% Grenache, reveals aromas of lemon, licorice, spices, peach, red berries and spring flowers. Moderately weighted and nicely balanced, it is built around lively mineral acids. It’s a very singular, rather Provençal interpretation of Bandol.
