Lastly, the 2021 Pinot Noir Black Label checks in as 100% Pinot Noir. Its deep ruby hue is followed by a captivating perfume of ripe black cherries, raspberries, graphite, new leather, pressed flowers, and loamy earth. It's incredibly well-balanced, has medium-bodied richness, silky tannins, and a gorgeous finish. This is riveting stuff that shows the focused, classic, classy style of the vintage. If you get a chance, don't miss it! I followed this bottle for multiple days, and it only improved with air, so don't be afraid to give it plenty of air if drinking any time soon. It will ideally be hidden in the cellar for 2-3 years and should evolve gracefully through 2036.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Black Label is a blend from several top sites in the Sta. Rita Hills. Deep, layered and persistent, the 2021 packs a pretty serious punch. In this vintage, I prefer the vineyard designates, but the Black Label is undeniably attractive. Dark blue fruits, lavender, spice, mocha, new leather and a kiss of French oak all build.
