Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable at present. Otherwise, the palate impression of the markedly intense larger-bodied flavors is a bit denser with good power and an almost pungent minerality, all wrapped in a compact and hugely long finish that is noticeably more complex. This is very promising and while the 2021 Cros won't rival the best vintages of this storied wine, it's more than respectable.
Though the 2021 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru was racked mid-July, this still has quite a lot of reduction on the nose that renders it difficult to read. The palate is velvety smooth, fine acidity, decent concentration with layers of dark berry fruit, quite candied with a touch of dark chocolate towards the finish. This is very fine.
