The 2020 Grands Echézeaux Grand Cru has a lovely bouquet with wild strawberry, cassis, wilted violets and touches of sous-bois. The palate is mediumbodied with very fine tannins, extremely pure and velvety. There is enormous energy and animation in this Grand Cru, sappiness that draws you back in for another sip. This is the best Grands Echézeaux that Maume Chuerlin has crafted.

 A more restrained and slightly fresher nose blends a variety of spice and floral elements with mostly dark berries and sandalwood nuances. The sleekly muscular and solidly concentrated larger-scaled flavors coat the palate with dry extract that helps to buffer the prominent tannic spine shaping the structured, youthfully austere and quite serious finish that makes clear this is not only built-to-age but will need it.
