The 2022 Puligny Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru has a fragrant and harmonious bouquet, with hints of yellow fruit and French pâtisserie probably emanating from the oak. The palate is well balanced, with a pleasant "fatness" on the mid-palate. There is fine weight and density here, and though it is perhaps oakier than other cuvées from Boillot, it has the substance to age well in bottle (if you can resist temptation). Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
