A more elegant and airier nose reflects a suggestion of exotic spice nuances, and in particular a wisp of jasmine tea, on the ripe yet cool aromas of mostly red berries. The precise and markedly stony medium weight flavors possess a highly refined texture thanks to the fine-grained, but dense, tannins shaping the dusty and youthfully austere finish. This will also need a few years of forbearance as it's presently quite compact.
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru has a nicely detailed bouquet, more black fruit than red, pressed iris flower and just a faint oyster shell note. The palate is finely crafted with pliant tannins, good tension though, just missing a little concentration on the finish. A capable Chambolle-Musigny that may well meliorate with a couple of years on the clock.
