This reminds me of Caymus Special Selection from the mid-90s! It is highly aromatic and ripe with flashy blackberry and blueberry, creme de cassis, black cherry, mocha, coffee bean, cardamom and mace with savory notes of wet tobacco, cigar wrapper, bay leaf, oyster shell and crushed rock as the wine opens. This beauty has sneaky hillside power that grows on the back palate that would be awesome with a grilled Ribeye! It also lovely texture because of the volcanic soils that keeps the wine alive versus being to heavy! Other aromas of Pine forest, anise, wild raspberry and dried violets come with time. This Cab has amazing drive and lively acid that carries the never ending finish that is incredibly smooth and mouth-coating! Aged 22 months in 60 percent new French oak, this wine offers round and ripe blueberry flavors complemented by a supple tannin structure, allowing this wine to age with grace over the next 10 years.
