This wine looks deep-hued in the glass but tastes immediately lithe and fresh, with a flowing grace in the mouth inviting sip after sip. There’s orange pith, a note of lemon and treacle, forest aromas and a sense of suspension, not weight. The oaking is subtle. The unusually high Chardonnay content is a great success. From a single vineyard. 50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay. Certified biodynamic. A great representative of the village of Essoyes. NV but from the 2018 harvest.
