 A fresh and pretty red with a character of wet leaves, pine needles, ripe black and blue fruits and some crashed stones. Medium- to full-bodied with a juicy and savory fruit component, firm tannins and velvety texture. Long and succulent finish and a little dustiness. Drink in 2023 and onwards.

A blend of Howell Mountain estate fruit with Merlot from Coombsville, Somnium's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up classic aromas of cassis, vanilla and cedar. Winemaker Julien Fayard has crafted a medium to full-bodied effort that's rich and velvety, picking up hints of dark chocolate on the long, vibrant finish.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a delicious, open-knit wine that will drink well right out of the gate. Dark cherry, plum, spice, cedar, tobacco and new leather are front and center. A healthy dollop of Merlot softens the 2019 and gives it tons of immediacy. This is sure to be a crowd pleaser. 

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon offers a nicely balanced, medium-bodied, lengthy style as well as complex notes of mulberries, blueberries, plum, and flowery incense. It’s ready to go yet certainly has a decade of prime drinking. This is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and the final 1% Petit Verdot, aged in 80% new French oak. I’d be happy to drink a glass.
