The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet La Combette 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with more mineralité than the Meursault Perrières that is poured before. This has more vigour and terroir expression. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, pretty orange pith and frangipane notes, a dash of white pepper on the finish; this is a commendable Puligny for the vintage. Worth seeking out.

Burghound

This is aromatically similar to the Chalumeaux but with more floral elements. The sublime mouthfeel of the middleweight flavors is even finer if not quite as mineral-driven while delivering outstanding depth and persistence on the highly seductive, beautifully delineated finish. This more powerful than usual and it would be fair to describe it as powerful yet refined. Excellent.
