The 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village, matured in 20% new oak, has more complexity on the nose than the Chorey-lès-Beaune, featuring shimmering dark cherry and violet aromas that burst from the glass. On the palate there is a wonderful line of acidity and superb finesse, an achievement given the warmth in the latter part of the growing season. Superb.

Soaring from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, raspberries, plums and spices, Rouget's 2018 Savigny-lès-Beaune Village is medium to full-bodied, with supple tannins, lively acids and a succulent core of fruit. It's an elegant but gourmand Savigny that will offer a broad drinking window.
This too is nicely ripe with even better freshness on the blend of red and dark currant that evidence more obvious earth influence. Once again there is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious and relatively refined flavors that possess a refreshing salinity on the youthfully austere and complex if slightly less concentrated finale.
