Glass-staining ruby. Expansive, spice-accented black raspberry, cherry, licorice and exotic spice qualities on the highly perfumed nose. Fleshy and appealingly sweet, offering concentrated red and dark fruit preserve, candied violet and olive paste flavors that pick up cola, star anise and smoky mineral notes as the wine opens up. Becomes more lively with aeration and finishes on repeating cherry and mineral notes, with well-knit tannins and impressive length.
