Producer's Notes

Finca Calvestra is the fruit of an intensive effort to reestablish the Merseguera grape - an indigenous variety that was once on the brink of extinction. 

The Calvestra estate is located in Requena, at an altitude of 900 meters. Vines composed of Merseguera shoots grafted onto old Bobal rootstock. Vineyard soil composed of loam and clay rock with high chalk content. Traditional viticulture employed, using a strictly non-irrigated gobelet system.
