Burghound: 92-95 Points

An herbal tea top note can be found on the ripe aromas of cassis, black cherry, cinnamon and violet. The caressing and enveloping medium-bodied flavors also possess outstanding volume and focused power on the superbly long finish. This broad-shouldered effort is presently tautly muscular and quite firm though Roncerets typically ages beautifully into classic examples of Volnay and I predict this will do the same if allowed sufficient time.

Vinous: 91-93 Points

The 2019 Volnay Le Ronceret 1er Cru, which is 100% destemmed, has a backward, broody nose of dense blackberry and briar fruit. The palate is fleshy on the entry with predominantly red fruit laced with clove and white pepper, showing fine delineation toward the cont-like finish. Quite sensual.
