The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is pure and vibrant, and I love its aromatics, which jump from the glass with brilliant notes of redcurrants, kirsch, toasted spice, cedar, and pencil lead. Full-bodied and well-structured, it has a chiseled feel with ripe tannins, fresh acidity, and a clean, earthy finish. It’s really quite appealing now but will benefit from another year or more in bottle. Drink 2024-2040.
